A better life for dogs with food allergies.

Your dog's food allergies are exhausting — for both of you. The itching, the scratching, the upset stomachs, the constant worry that one wrong ingredient sends you back to square one. And no matter what you've tried, the risk never really goes away.

We're enrolling dogs in a new treatment that may help dogs with food allergies stay reaction-free, even when they're exposed to their trigger foods. It's the first treatment of its kind.

Find out if your dog is a fit for our study

  • Dogs Living with Food Allergies Study duration:  Up to 2 weeks of active treatment
    Your dog may be eligible if they:

    • Have a confirmed food allergy diagnosis from a veterinarian

    • Are currently on a hydrolyzed protein or novel protein elimination diet and have been stable on it for at least 4 weeks

    • Are between 1–10 years old and weigh greater than 11 lbs

    • Have a known food trigger — a specific food that reliably causes a reaction

    • Are currently free from other skin conditions such as environmental allergies or flea allergy


    Key Exclusion Criteria 
Dogs meeting any of the following conditions will not be eligible to participate:

    • Have an active skin infection, parasitic infestation, or other allergic condition that could affect results

    • Have received a biologic allergy injection within the past 8 weeks

    • Are pregnant, nursing, or in heat at screening


    General Exclusion 
Criteria Dogs meeting any of the following conditions will not be eligible to participate:

    • Are currently on allergy medications such as steroids or immunosuppressants — a washout period may apply, ask our team before ruling your dog out

    • Have liver, kidney, endocrine, or other systemic disease

    • Have active cancer or another serious systemic illness

    • Are in a multi-pet household where strict diet control cannot be guaranteed

    • Are currently enrolled in another clinical study

    • Weigh less than 11 lbs

    • Are under 1 year or over 10 years of age

  • It’s how new veterinary medications and treatments are discovered and proven to work. Every prescription today started with volunteer pet participants.

  • People enroll their pets in a clinical trial to help find new and effective treatments for animal diseases for their own pets or for other pets.

  • Your dog may qualify if they're 1–10 years old, weigh greater than 11 lbs, are in good general health, have a diagnosed food allergy managed through a novel protein or hydrolyzed diet, and have no other active skin conditions.

  • Because the diet is managing the symptoms — not the allergy. Most food-allergic dogs live under constant dietary restriction, and one accidental exposure can trigger a significant reaction. If the investigational treatment proves effective, it could offer an additional layer of protection that makes life less restrictive and less stressful for your dog and your family.

  • Not necessarily. Some dogs will receive our investigational treatment and others will receive a comparable standard of care treatment. You'll know which group your dog is in before enrolling

  • Veterinary clinical trials are determined safe through preclinical safety studies and FDA/USDA oversight. And through ensuring thorough owner informed consent, proper dosing, and monitoring for adverse events to protect the animal's welfare during the course of the clinical trial.

  • Your personal information will be kept confidential and de-identified whenever possible, unless required by law. The study veterinarian(s), the sponsor or persons working on behalf of the sponsor, and under certain circumstances, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be able to inspect and copy confidential study-related records which identify a participant by name.

  • None. All study-related veterinary care, exams, and monitoring are covered. Participants also receive $1000 in veterinary clinic credits as compensation for their time and travel.

  • Yes. We cover all study-related vet visits and provide $1,000 in veterinary care credits.

  • Yes. You're free to withdraw your dog from the study at any time, for any reason.

  • Upon completion, dogs will resume ongoing medical care with their regular veterinarian
